چکیده

S OF PAPERS 235 larly and intranasally with virulent Ark virus on day 30. Necropsy was performed on day 35 and clinical signs, sera, and virus detection were analyzed. Vaccine replication was not detected in a significant number of broilers until day 24 post vaccination and SPF chickens until day 28 post vaccination. Following challenge, 14 of 20 SPF and 9 of 20 broiler chickens tested positive for virus by qRT-PCR. These data demonstrate poor vaccine virus replication resulting in poor protection from challenge, which is consistent with previous studies. This trial also shows that Ark vaccine will spread to other chickens in a flock, indicating that multiple peaks of vaccine replication seen in previous trials may be the result of multiple infections of vaccine virus.

The Use of Molecular Techniques in Isolation and Characterization of Mycoplasma gallisepticum from Commercial Chickens in Jordan

Commercial chickens in Jordan suffer from respiratory disease of undetermined etiology. This study was designed to document the involvement of Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) in this respiratory disease. Seventy six different chicken flocks with respiratory symptoms (48 broiler flocks, 21 layer flocks and 7 broiler-breeder flocks) were examined serologically by commercial MG ELISA kit and bacteri...

Identification of Strain-Specific Sequences That Distinguish a Mycoplasma gallisepticum Vaccine Strain from Field Isolates

Despite attempts to control avian mycoplasmosis through management, vaccination, and surveillance, Mycoplasma gallisepticum continues to cause significant morbidity, mortality, and economic losses in poultry production. Live attenuated vaccines are commonly used in the poultry industry to control avian mycoplasmosis; unfortunately, some vaccines may revert to virulence and vaccine strains are g...

Serologic profile of avian leukosis virus subgroup-J, Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae in broiler grandparent flocks of Iran.

Avian Leukosis Virus Subgroup-J (ALV-J). Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) and MycopJasma synviae (MS) are important pathogens in chickens that cause severe economical losses in poultry industry throughout the world. Seven broiler grandparent flocks of Iran (six broiler strains) were sampled randomly at the ages of 8-63 wk (100 samples from each flock) for antibody detection to ALV-J, MG, and MS ...

Molecular detection and phylogenetic analysis of Mycoplasma gallisepticum from backyard and commercial turkey flocks in Iran

Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) is economically important pathogen of poultry causes airsacculitis and frequently infraorbital sinusitis in turkeys. Infections may remain without clinical signs, but they can make birds susceptible to secondary infections. This study was carried out for molecular detection and phylogenetic analysis of MG infections in commercial and backyard turkey flocks ...

A Survey of Pathogenic Avian Mycoplasma Involvement in Multicausal Respiratory Disease in Broiler Flocks

BACKGROUND: Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) and Mycoplasma synoviae (MS) are the most important and pathogenic mycoplasma in chicken production. The tendency of avian mycoplasma for interaction with other pathogen is well-known. Interaction within several disease-producing factors in respiratory tract exacerbate the disease and known as multicausal respiratory disease. OBJECTIVES: In recent years...
